面接では相手からの質問への回答と同じく、こちらから相手への質問も重要です。質問には、その人のコミュニケーション力や問題解決力が表れるからです。英語でも適切に質問できるように準備しておくと、英語面接に役立ちます。
私が転職活動中に海外の転職情報サイトから拾い集めた質問文を、以下に列挙します。皆さんの事情に合わせて、使えそうな例文を覚えておきましょう。
- How would you describe the responsibilities of the position?（職務内容を聞く質問）
- How would you describe a typical day and week in this position?（この役職の典型的な勤務パターンを聞く質問）
- Is this a new position? If not, what did the previous employee go on to do?（「今回の募集は新しい役職ですか？でなければ、前任の方はどんなことをしてきたのでしょうか？」という質問で、前任者の仕事のことを聞きつつ、あわよくば辞めた理由も聞いちゃおうみたいな🤔）
- What is the company's management style?（会社の経営スタイル）
- Who does this position report to? If I am offered the position, can I meet him or her?（「私の直属の上司はどなたでしょうか？私が内定をいただいたら、その方にお会いできますか？」という質問ですが、直属の上司となる人が面接しないで採用を決めることなんてあるのでしょうか❓）
- How many people work in this office/department?（同じオフィスまたは部署の人数）
- How much travel is expected?（出張頻度）
- Is relocation a possibility?（転勤の有無）
- What is the typical work week? Is overtime expected?（典型的な1週間の働き方と残業の有無）
- What are the prospects for growth and advancement?（会社の成長と個人の昇進に対する展望）
- How does one advance in the company?（個人の昇進パターン）
- Are there any examples of a career path beginning with this position?（この役職から始まるキャリアパスの事例）
- Would you like a list of references?（リファレンスチェックの要否）
- If I am extended a job offer, how soon would you like me to start?（「もし内定をいただけるようでしたら、いつごろまでに私は御社で働き始めることをお考えでしょうか？」）
- What can I clarify for you about my qualifications?（「私の資格・資質について御社に何をお示ししたらよろしいですか？」一瞬、特定の資格か何かのことかと思いましたが、それならばthe qualificationというでしょうから、やっぱり「どうしたら私の資質(my qualifications)おわかりいただけます？」って意味でしょう😎日本では考えられません🤔）
- When can I expect to hear from you?（合否の通知予定日）
- Are there any other questions I can answer for you?（「ほかに私に答えられる質問はありますか？」ってのもアメリカンですねぇ😎こんなこと聞く応募者いるんでしょうか❓）
- Do you have any reservations about my qualifications?（「私の資格・資質について何かご不明な点はありますか？」って、これもアメリカンすぎます😎どういうときに聞くのか、私にもわかりません🤷♂️）
- Do you have a policy for helping new members of the team get on board?（チームの新メンバーへのオンボーディング体制）
- What are biggest challenges of this job?（この仕事の最大の課題）
- What's the most important thing I should accomplish in the first ninety days?（最初の90日間で達成すべき最も大事なこと）
- How would you describe this company's values?（この会社のバリュー）
- How has the company changed over the last few years?（過去数年間における会社の変化）
- What are the company's plans for growth and development?（成長と発展のための会社の計画）
- What are the biggest rewards of the job and working for this company?（この会社への職務貢献に対する最大の報酬）
- What is the best part of working for this company?（この会社で働いていて最もよいところ）
- What's your least favorite part of working here?（「この会社のあまりよくないところは何ですか？」その会社について何か気になるうわさがあれば聞いておきたいですが、くれぐれも最初にしないように😁）
- What type of background do you feel would be best suited for success in this position?（「この役職で活躍するのに最適なのは、どういう経歴でしょうか？」という質問は、不採用になったときに、その理由を推測して、その後の作戦を立てるのに役立ちます👍）
